Each sculpture is hand-carved in Sri Lanka from solid teak, then sanded smooth and sealed to bring out the natural warmth of the grain. No two pieces are ever quite identical, since each one follows the character already present in that particular piece of wood.

At around 4 to 4.5 inches tall, it's small enough to sit on a nightstand, bookshelf, or office desk, but it carries enough presence to be the first thing someone notices when they walk into the room. It works just as well as a quiet daily reminder as it does a display piece.
